At interview stage, HCL was there to meet us and made us feel at home. My consultant gave me some tips to relax and how to keep the interview short, precise and to the point which was very helpful. The support from HCL, prior to my arrival, was very good. I received responses to all of the questions on time, which was awesome. I didn’t worry as much about relocating and I felt confident about my move, which was quite a huge decision to make to move all the way from Africa to Europe. HCL picked me up from the airport and helped us find accommodation and sign up with our new landlords. We also got a lot of advice from the team on other basic essentials. To date, the team is still assisting us to negotiate with the employer on our behalf on certain issues which is very helpful for me as a new employee.
Immediately after registering on their website, as well as applying for a post, they contact me to assess me as well as giving me guidance as to what is expected of me as it was my first time applying for an international post. They were very helpful.

The interview preparation in person from HCL was quite helpful in calming my nerves. This was my first international interview so having Nicola there supporting us was a bonus. HCL assisted me with all the necessary information I needed to know. They told me what documents were required for the visas, how to apply visas, and mistakes to avoid. I had a bit of drama from the flights I booked but Iulia was there and fought hard to ensure everything was in order. When I landed in UK I just said to myself what would I have done without HCL because they were there at the airport and escorted us to our temporary accommodation. The relocation process was bearable with the support from HCL.

The interview process was friendly, welcoming and comfortable. I think it’s because I was only a 20 minute drive from the hotel where the interviews were held, as oppose to the many that had to fly from various places. Nicola and Shannon were very helpful at the interview. I would like to add that I still remember the first time I spoke to Zack Leventis. I have never spoken to such a fun, optimistic and encouraging consultant like him before. His patience and zealous attitude on the phone really gave me nudge that I was making the right decision. Even in stressful moments he had a way of showing a person the positive side of the situation. This allowed me to confidently attend my interview and was helpful throughout the process. Iulia, my Iulia – she is one feisty tough cookie. It is really true when they say big dynamites come in small packages. Right from the beginning she maintained constant communication, transparency and dedication to the process – her perfection and drive got the job done. From Iulia availing herself on the day of arrival and taking us around in a blizzard, she assisted us with things I had already prepared my mind to do myself. Even though I have done this entire process in the UK before, having Lulia to ask many questions, and vent to, was really helpful and a relief. Thank you HCL, you really do have an amazing team of consultants. I spent time building relationships with people I do not know over the phone and emails, some I still don’t know what they look like and yet it was so easy to completely trust them to move me a thousand miles away from family and friends. I would do this entire process with HCL all over again!
