York Teaching HospitalHCL Doctors has been awarded the contract for the supply of all temporary medical staff at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (YTHFT) for the supply of temporary medical staff. This is the second master vendor contract that HCL Doctors has won within the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOECPC), a collaborative procurement hub consisting of 52 trusts.

The three year contract will cover the procurement of temporary staff across all YTHFT sites, including Scarborough General Hospital, allowing the Trust greater visibility and consistency with regards to its temporary staff. With the support of HCL Clarity, HCL’s managed service technology solution, HCL Doctors will supply the Trust with experienced medical locums from its extensive database, whilst managing its supply chain of approved partner agencies.

Josh Collins, managing director of HCL Doctors, comments ‘We are very happy to have been awarded this contract with YTHFT. The Trust’s main objective is to reduce their costs, whilst maintaining and growing a strong supply of high quality staff; ultimately delivering quality patient care. With our strong presence in Yorkshire, due to our head office being in Skipton, we are confident that we can deliver the consistently high standard of service they need to achieve this. The use of a master vendor supplier, combined with HCL Clarity’s technology, will allow the Trust clear visibility of compliance, control of cost and improved workforce planning. Having implemented four master vendor solutions in 2014 with great success, we are well placed to support YTHFT, and look forward to sharing our valuable experience with the Trust.’

The master vendor solution for YTHFT will be launched at the beginning of June 2015.
